Landenberger Ag Tech
Big machine, big harvest
About Landenberger Ag Tech
Landenberger Ag Tech is owned by Andrew and Martina Landenberger and is run from the family property in Ben Lomond NSW. The business started more by accident than by plan. Andrew was formerly an Olympic sailor and his wife a Lufthansa flight attendant. With two young boys they based themselves in the the south of Germany where Martina continued to fly and Andrew ran a sail manufacturing business. Fortunately the sail factory was situated on the edge of farmland so Andrew was never far from the life on the land which he grew up with. This is where he saw the first Hatzenbichler machine in action and it was not long before he was sending the first machine home to the family property in Ben Lomond.
In 2007 Andrew and Martina with their two boys Christopher and Andy returned to Australia to help run the family property. During this time they started to see the benefits of improved pastures and started to look for better and more efficient ways to improve the country. Although highly fertile basalt soil, it was also challenging to work with steep slopes and high stone content. In 2017 Andrew made a trip to the Hatzenbichler factory with ideas to improve the vertikator machines for Australian conditions. One thing led to another and after a few more trips to the factory they became the Australian importer for the Austrian built machines. Andrew and Martina's youngest son, Andy has also spent time working in the Hatzenbichler factory and now also plays an important role in the new business. Since bringing in the first Vertikator machines the interest across the entire product range has been excellent. The main advantage is that everyone involved in the Hatzenbichler company are farmers so they understand what they are talking about and what is required to make a high quality product which will last the distance.
Andrew has a very close relationship with the company and makes regular trips to the factory to continue developing the product range for the Australian market.
